Eating Solids!
When I returned from Japan, we decided (well I decided, everyone had been pushing me for weeks) that Shelby was ready for solids....I would've started earlier, but didn't want to start, and then go to Japan and miss any issues she may have...so it got put off one week and she started at 6 mos. 1 week. Her first food was rice cereal...seemed ok at first, but it constipated her very bad. She went 4 days without a "movement". I finally called the doctor and had to give her karo syrup in water which worked like a charm. We also switched to oatmeal cereal and have not had a problem. Her first veggie was sweet potatoes and first fruit was prunes (for the "movement". The fruits are pretty tart and she likes them mixed in her cereal...I'd say she like sweet potatoes and squash best, and green beans the least (just like her mommy)...but overall she eats great. When she gets really hungry, she moans while she eats...you can't shovel it in fast enough (just like her daddy). She really likes bananas and will eat those without cereal. She is eating two meals per day as of today and I'm about ready to add another meal and maybe finger foods (i.e. puffs, cheerios) soon. She also loves her mesh feeder which we usually just put an ice cube in...sometimes fruit! I'll attach a few food related pics to this post!
