Shelby's first time on the potty!

I'm not trying to potty train Shelby yet, but I have been introducing her to the concept. For the past couple of weeks before her bath, I take her diaper off and put her on the real toilet. She clings to me for dear life but will usually sit for a few minutes and even went once. I don't think she realized she went as the water was running....but I was cheering for her.

Well, I decided to get her a potty seat today and wouldn't push her, again, let her get used to the concept and put her on before her bath. Well, good and bad. I got it out of the box before dinner. It is the kind that the back folds down to make a step stool and it makes music when you pee/poop! Well, she loved it as soon as I got out of the box. She kept putting the seat up and down and sitting on it, getting up, etc. Well, it was time to go eat dinner and she through a huge tantrum and cried for the first 15 min of dinner.

So, fast forward to bath time. My dad was over and saying good bye and I told Shelby to show Papa her potty. I get her undressed and put her on it without a diaper. She kept standing up and putting the back down and I was afraid she was going to pee all over the back, but she finally sat down with the seat up and I was just explaining to my dad that music will pay when she pees....and all of a sudden....there was music...she went in the potty on the very first try. Again, I realize she probably has no idea what she was doing, but I was pretty excited. So, when I picked her up to put her in the bath...yep, another temper tantrum!!!

So, not sure if I'm doing this to early, I think it's just a toy for her, but will take it day by day!!!
