We have been so busy lately with Shelby that I have not had any time to post...Shelby is doing great! She has had a busy couple of weeks. She went on a business trip with her mommy a couple of weeks ago. I took her up to my Sales Conference at Shanty Creek Golf Resort from June 25-28. I took Betsy, her nanny, with us and we had a good time! Shelby did great on her first trip away from home (or Grandma's). She slept 3 of the 4 hours on the way up and just started getting crabby at the end when the trip got extended following a detour! She slept through the night in her pack and play the first night, woke up once to eat the 2nd night, and a couple of times the third night, I think she missed her own bed....but overall did great and was a hit at the pool!
She is pretty regularly rolling from front to back now! SHe is laughing out lot A LOT and smiling a ton! She is very vocal with her toys, especially during the day! I guess she has a lot to say! I can't wait for her to start talking for real! She has been playing in her exersaucer and is holding up her head great and reaching and grabbing everything in sight! Everything goes straight in her mouth!
She is really following Schooner around with her eyes and head...she definitely keeps a close eye on him. Every once in a while, he will come give her a kiss and she will grab a handful of his beard!!! He doesn't flinch at all! He is really good with her and is learning to differentiate between his toys and hers! Speaking of toys, she is playing with them a lot more and she has her own cell phone and remote control.
A couple of weeks ago, she met her friend from Australia, Olivia. Olivia is Mark & Fran's daughter who is about one month older than her! We were at a party with a TON of babies and Shelby was very well behaved as usual! We love showing her off and her daddy is sure to make sure she is in a "girly" dress.
I checked our bank statement a couple of weeks ago and saw an entry from "Janie & Jack", an expensive baby clothes store. Her daddy ordered her a ruffle red bikini and a red dress for her six month picture!!! He is definitely worse than me when it comes to buying her clothes!
This past weekend, we took our first road trip as a family! Shelby has definitely had some car time in the past couple of weeks. We went to Sandusky to visit with Cale's best friend, Brett, and his wife, Beth and their kids, Brielle & Brandon. They were visiting her parents (up from Houston). We had dinner on Thursday night and went to Put-In-Bay on Friday. She liked her first boat ride! She was a perfect angel as we pushed her around in her stroller all day!
She is still sleeping through the night, for the most part! She wakes up every once in a while, but eats and goes back to sleep!! She is so much fun and I can't imagine life without her.
